The Muslim call for prayer and Hindu celebration of Shiva god and Faith

by alan.young on February 23, 2012

As I am writing this the 5th and last Muslim call for prayer for the day is happening. My heart is always moved when I hear the Muslim call for prayer. Two nights ago in this area of India was a celebration of the Hindu god Shiva that went into the early hours of the day…

At times I feel over whelmed with the spiritual darkness of this great land.

I was sharing this with my good friend from Nagaland India, Taku Longkumer yesterday evening. He understood where I was coming from and also shared how there are many, many Hindu and Muslim believers who believe in Christ and confessed Him as their personal Savior but are maintaining a low profile because of family and society. They have gathering’s in their homes and other places and are seeking the best way they can be a witness for the Lord. These Christians are not included in any census.

It is a definite encouragement to hear this and I have heard it from others too, but the need is still so vast it is really incomprehensible.

I must constantly abandon myself upon the Lord and as always His grace super-cedes my weakness. Isn’t the Lord so beautiful and awesome in our lives?!

Where ever we are in life and in our walk with the Lord we must daily build ourselves up in the faith by spending time in the Word of God and prayer. God has put desires in your heart that He wants to see fulfilled in your life more than you do!

What are some of those desires? Write them down, journal them.

Do you remember when Jesus cursed the fig tree and Peter said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.” And Jesus answered him, “Have faith in God.”
It’s the passage that tells us that whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.’ The Lords action in cursing the fig tree indicates a passion that we are to have in prayer and faith that we are to have in our relationship with Him and for what He has called us to do in life. Ministry. Business. Family. Whatever it is that we are facing.

When He told His followers to “speak to mountains,” He was leading and preparing them for real life situations that would require them to take direct authority in the spiritual realm that would impact things in the natural realm.

We are to do the same today! For me, it’s training and equipping Asians to reach Asians, one on one personal encounters or divine appointments, my wife being able to join me ‘once again’ in full-time ministry and speaking into the lives of Believers that you have the call of God upon your life, that He has great and mighty things in store for you and your family and within that a portion of that call has to do with reaching the lost in your community and fulfilling the Great Commission of world evangelism.

What’s your dream, your call, your passion? Go for it...Have faith in God!

Here is a photo of Muslims who confessed Christ in recent weeks being baptized a few days ago! Paul said, some sow, some water and some reap the Harvest. What a honor it was to be a part of this baptism. I do not take it lightly. Thank You Lord and please pray for the man (name withheld) who as a Muslim put his faith and trust in Jesus in 1993 and is leading around 70 Muslims a year to the Lord. He faces great adversity and battles isolation. Such a humble beautiful spirit he has. Thanks! I so look forward to being with him again later this year.

Alan,

My name is Bob Sjogren and I create homeschool material to get kids interested in what God is doing globally. I put pictures in it so they can visually see what God is doing. May I have permission to use one of your pictures of the Muslims being water baptized? You will be given credit for the picture. Thanks. Bob

Hi Bob,

Yes absolutely you may use that picture and any others if you’d like.
