Rebuke Hope Deferred!

by alan.young on April 15, 2012

Say so long to…

Good bye to…Hope Deferred!

It’s easy to give up. It’s easy to get discouraged.

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13:12

Zechariah 9:12 calls says, “You prisoners of hope.” God wants us to be so full of hope, so full of expectancy that we can’t help believing but for the best…

In the midst of your hope deferred, be a student, not a victim. A victim says, “Why did this happen to me?” A student says, “What can I learn from this?”

A victim believes his/her hard times have come because nothing ever goes their way…accepts it and even finds identity in it, develops a “woe is me attitude.” A student knows and understands that every adversity and hope deferred is an excellent opportunity for personal growth, for God to do something in and through their life… Matthew Barnett tweeted yesterday: Adversity is your University!

This is a quick post before Chris Reynolds and I leave for the Philippines tonight to encourage you to continue on, march on, stand firm…knowing that we walk by faith and not by sight, the desire is coming and is on the way. Also, that within the desires of your heart as you delight in the Lord, allow Him to fill and burden your heart for the lost  in your community and  for those who’ve never heard of His great and awesome love before, by getting involved in helping fulfill the great commission  by going, sending others or both!
